A Final Solution to the Pollution at Doheny State Beach Most candidates running for Dana Point city council will say they "support Clean Beaches." But actions speak louder than words. I founded Dana Point's "Clean Oceans, Clean Beaches" effort. Additionally, I originated the "Bridges to Tomorrow" strategic plan to restore the ocean waters and beaches. During my tenure, our city has received and spent over $8 million improving water quality! Storm drain diversion projects have been built along the coastline to eliminate solid waste intrusion, significantly cutting down pollution to our ocean. I continue to work towards a solution to finally clean up Doheny State Beach, holding upstream cities accountable for their polluted urban runoff. Dana Point is recognized throughout Orange County as THE leading city when it comes to protecting our beaches and ocean, and I am proud of that! |
