Continue Beautification
& Capital Improvement
Projects
A young lady came up to
me after church a while back and thanked me for the new Lantern Village
Community Park that was dedicated in her neighborhood. She drives
by the park every day going to and from work and loves the way it
has beautified the area. There are other council members to thank
as well, plus our great city staff, and a wonderful consultant who
designed the park as a place of beauty, solace and meditation. Sycamore
Creek Trail across from Creekside Park, along with Heritage and Pines
Park, are huge success stories in "America's Most Beautiful Coastal
City."
This city just recently purchased for the first time in its history a meaningful piece of open space adjacent to Pines Park in Capo Beach that will benefit residents for generation to come. Recently, when the council ratified the findings of the California Coastal Commission relative to the Certified Headlands LCP, we just added another 60+ acres of open space, parks and trails to the city's inventory - at absolutely no cost to the city or our residents. Such a deal. We will finish Sea Terrace Park and continue to refurbish and beautify existing parks - some neglected during past administrations.
I support the "Town Center Strategic Plan," and am grateful to everyone involved. This project is huge in terms of benefits to our businesses, residents, and visitors. I say, let's get on with it.
